OSU/ATI – Program 60 – Horticultural Photography Course

OSU/ATI Campus, Wooster

Each year, beginning in 2010, I have taught a one-semester course in Horticultural Photography (Hort Tec 2140T) at Ohio State University’s Agricultural Technical Institute (OSU/ATI) in Wooster, Ohio. This year the course is scheduled on Thursday, from 1:50 pm to 5:00 pm, beginning on August 22 and ending on December 5, with a half-term break on October 10 and a Thanksgiving holiday break on November 28. This is a required course for undergraduate students enrolled at OSU/ATI for an Associate Degree in Horticulture. The program is a complete course in digital photography, using smartphones and/or SLR/Mirrorless digital cameras, as well as Adobe Lightroom Classic CC, with the emphasis on landscape, nature, and garden photography. The main text for the course is my eBook, iPhone Landscape & Nature Photography, which is available for $14.99 as an Apple iBook or PDF download from my website, www.ianadamsphotography.com

In addition to OSU/ATI undergraduate students, this course is also available as a non-credit program, free of tuition charges, for any Ohio resident over the age of 60, as part of  the OSU/ATI Program 60. This is an excellent opportunity to gain an in-depth knowledge of digital photography, at minimal cost. To get the most benefit from the course, you will need to attend all 15 afternoon sessions at OSU/ATI, as well as complete a range of assignments, including several photo shoots. Program 60 students are not required to take the mid-term and final exams that are mandatory for undergraduate students, but are welcome to do so if desired.
