Spring Photo Walk – Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens – April 27, 2019

Join us on Saturday, April 27, from 1:40-4 pm, for an early spring photography walk at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens in Akron, Ohio. Bring your iPhone, Android smartphone, or favorite digital camera as we stroll Stan Hywet’s beautiful gardens in search of daffodils, tulips, peonies, flowering shrubs, and spring wildflowers.

Peonies, West Terrace, Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens

I’ve been privileged to photograph the gardens at Stan Hywet for more than twenty years, and I’ll share some of my favorite locations for capturing the beauty of spring in the formal gardens, woodlands, and meadows of this national treasure.

Anyone can take snapshots with a smartphone, but to take your photography to the next level you will need a knowledge of lighting and composition in landscape and garden photography, as well as how to control exposure, sharpness, and depth-of-field, using your smartphone’s built-in features as well as a variety of apps which provide additional capabilities. Bring along your questions on landscape and nature photography to share during our photo walk.

I enjoyed your winter photo adventure in Stepins Gulch. I’d like to attend this one. I didn’t see a fee posted. If yes, how much? Interior? Exterior? Are tripods permitted? Thanks for the follow up!!
