Join us on Sunday, May 5, from 2-4 pm, for a spring photography walk at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens in Akron, Ohio. Bring your iPhone, Android smartphone, or favorite digital camera as we stroll Stan Hywet’s beautiful gardens in search of tulips, peonies, flowering shrubs, and spring wildflowers.

I’ve been privileged to photograph the gardens at Stan Hywet for more than twenty years, and I’ll share some of my favorite locations for capturing the beauty of spring in the formal gardens, woodlands, and meadows of this national treasure.
Anyone can take snapshots with a smartphone, but to take your photography to the next level you will need a knowledge of lighting and composition in landscape and garden photography, as well as how to control exposure, sharpness, and depth-of-field, using your smartphone’s built-in features as well as a variety of apps which provide additional capabilities. Bring along your questions on landscape and nature photography to share during our photo walk.

We will meet in the Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens Carriage House courtyard on May 5 at 1:40 pm and the photo walk will begin at 2:00 pm.
