Updated eBook, “iPhone Landscape & Nature Photography”

The best camera, it’s often said, is the one that is always with you – your iPhone. As you read these words, your copy of the world’s most successful – and profitable – product, or its Android competitor, is probably within easy reach. The younger you are, the more time you spend with your iPhone, staring at its screen for a mind blowing 6-7 hours each day if you are a Millennial or a Generation Zer. Every day, 250 million photos are uploaded to Facebook, and another 50 million are added to Instagram. As predicted by the late Steve Jobs, the iPhone has become “the one device” – including a superb camera – that now dominates our lives.

In the fall of 2019, Apple introduced the new iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max models, with major updates to the camera systems and associated photography apps. I upgraded my iPhone XS to an 11 Pro in November, 2019 and have been testing and evaluating the new camera features for the past year. During the Covid-19 pandemic I and my fellow Ohioans have been in lockdown mode at home for the most part, giving me ample time to review the new iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 models and incorporate their updated features in my eBook, iPhone Landscape & Nature Photography, which now has 157 pages, more than 300 photos, 70 screenshots, and over 34,000 words of text.

Some of the most exciting camera updates in the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 models are listed below:

* A new ultra-wide-angle camera with a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 13mm – great for scenic photography;

* Improvements to Smart HDR (High Dynamic Range) and Portrait mode for better control of depth-of-field;

* An enhanced Photo Editor with many new tools and other features;

* Night mode – which uses the power of computational photography and the blazingly fast new iPhone A13 bionic processor to produce dramatic improvements in photographs taken in low light and at night;

  1. I purchased the original ebook. Is there a big difference between that original and this update? Thank you

  2. Doris: The main difference is all the information on the new iPhone 11 models, so you will find the eBook most useful if you have upgraded your iPhone to an 11, 11 Pro, or 11 Pro Max.
