Do you enjoy visiting and photographing beautiful gardens? Would you like to improve your garden photography skills? If so, join me on Saturday, August 30 at Wildwood Preserve in the Toledo Metroparks for a one-day, in-depth, hands-on workshop designed to help you take beautiful garden and nature photography photos with your digital SLR camera, point-&-shoot camera or smartphone.

During the morning class session, we’ll cover these topics:
* Essential digital camera settings for garden and nature photography;
* Garden subjects that make great subjects for your smartphone camera, and those that are best photographed with your SLR or point-&-shoot camera;
* How to optimize exposure and control image sharpness and depth-of-field in your garden photos;
* The best lighting for garden and landscape photography;
* Tips for finding and composing beautiful photographs of public gardens and arboretums, private gardens, natural landscapes and close-ups of flowers, shrubs, trees, garden structures, butterflies and other garden subjects.

After lunch, join me for a photo shoot in the Ellen Shipman Garden at Wildwood Preserve.

After the photo shoot, I’ll share some tips for fine-tuning your garden photos on your PC or Mac using Adobe Photoshop CS6/CC and Lightroom 5.0, and sharing your photos using slide programs, social media and other websites, color inkjet prints, and self-published books.

The workshop is $60 for Toledo Metroparks members, $75 for non-members, and includes a handout covering the classroom topics. To register, call (419)-407-9701 or visit the Toledo Metroparks website
